Vertigo -a sensation of whirling and loss of balance, associated particularly with looking down from a great height, or caused by disease affecting the inner ear or the vestibular nerve; giddiness. ~ WebMD
Jan 27th-I woke up dizzy. When I mean dizzy, I mean the room was spinning out of control nonstop. And for 3 weeks straight, I have been dizzy. For anyone who has experienced Vertigo, know this feeling and know what I mean when I say that I do not wish this feeling on anybody.
Imagine the whole world spinning and you can never regain your focus. Doesn’t happen often but frequently. My life has been truly compromised. How? Well onto my 4th week and having visiting my eye doctor and physician several times, being out of work for several days, and emergency room visit ( nothing too serious I decided to take myself so that the doctors could test for EVERYTHING) but not being able to drive, go to work, grocery store, or barely move my head without nearly fainting, neck pain, head tension, and nerve tremors has to be one of the most scariest, not to mention inconvenient type of sickness I have ever experienced in my life.
So what exactly is going on?
Well after googling all of my symptoms and pulling up the worst results, CT scan and many blood test, EKG, and X-Rays turns out I have sinusitis, most likely a mild ear infection, and dehydrated. Is this definite? All the doctors “think” this is what it is. This has had me frustrated for WEEKS. I don’t want them to THINK, I need them to KNOW that this is the diagnose.
Well get this. I feel fine. Just dizzy. What I mean is, I know what sinus feels like. As of now, I can breathe just fine, not congested, no previous illness/cold, no allergies, no fever, no kind of symptoms that lead to a sinus inflammation. Again. Just dizzy. So how is it that I have sinusitis with absolutely no symptoms that lead to sinus?
Your guess is as good as mine. And I am still trying to figure this one out.
I am happy to say that even though I am not 100%, I am feeling much better. After fluids and some rest, the dizziness at least went away. I was prescribed some antibiotics ( which mind you, if you know me, you know that I HATE pills) so currently, my house smells like an aromatherapy store lol, but I JUST started taking the antibiotics as well to clear up the “inflammation.” But I am feeling better ( premedication that is).
Anyone who has experienced this feeling/illness or is currently experiencing vertigo. I feel your pain and frustration. Hang in there. And don’t be afraid to take matters into your own hands by taking yourself to the hospital for answers. Ask a lot of questions. Document your symptoms. And don’t think that you have to take EVERYTHING given to you. Do your research. And if you can find some natural remedies try those out first. I know I was a lab rat for several days that definitely subsided my symptoms. I don’t write about my experiences for sympathy, I write this for those who can relate and looking for answers or just need to know that they are not alone. #PrayersUp
