Sleep

 

images.pngWhoever said counting sheep helps you fall asleep, LIED. I don’t do this but I’m sure you heard of this growing up as a child several times. It’s funny as a child how you thought taking a nap would be like missing out on 30 minutes of your life!  Now as an adult a good nap is like regaining or rejuvenating your life. Adults do not get enough sleep. It seems like we are lucky to get at least 4-5 hours of sleep these days and that’s only if you are lucky.  We have to do better.

All the coffee and caffeine in the world will not help you get through the day. If nothing else, it will have you CRASH by the end of the day leaving you even more tired than before. And more restless when it is time to sleep.

Insomnia is a real issue that I am sure every adult has experienced. Waking up in the middle of the night, tossing and turning, is the result of a lot of problematic issues that many adults are not aware of. One issue is in fact that we as adults have WAY too much on our minds. It is so hard to allow our minds to rest or be placed at ease. There are health issues that also could be an underlying cause of sleep deprivation and it is important that you make sure you are aware of your health.

Stress, Blood Pressure, Migraines/ headaches, Muscle aches and Pains ( perhaps uncomfortable/old mattress) or even perhaps a sleep disorder can all play a part in sleep deprivation.

I can’t diagnose your issue. But you know when you need rest. Those strained red eyes, yawning, fatigue, and break down of your body are not to be stubborn about. Get some rest. Your mind and body will thank you later.
