Have you ever experienced a Chiropractor?
A doctor of chiropractic (DC), chiropractor or chiropractic physician, is a medical professional who is trained to diagnose and treat disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. They believe in a conservative (non-surgical) hands-on approach to treating these disorders.
Well I had my first experience with a chiropractor specialist and all I can say is wow! Best. Experience. Ever. A lot of people go to a Chiro due to an accident or referral from your primary care doctor. I went to a chiropractor because well, I have been working out for a long time now, when I squat, I like to squat heavy and deep, when I do cardio, it’s intense workouts of mostly kickboxing, cycle, and body lifting. And this is SO terrible to say, but I HATE stretching afterwards. I know it benefits your body movement but man does it take so much time after your workout when your adrenaline is on level 10. – ( refer to my blog called “Stretching is Vital” https://thehealthysoulvibe.wordpress.com/2017/04/19/stretching-is-vital/
Not only that, but I sit at a computer most of my day due to work, so I can become real stiff at times. Needless to say my back, neck, shoulders, legs……..pretty much my WHOLE ENTIRE body needed not only a deep tissue massage but some adjustments.
I went to a location called, New Leaf Chiropractor and met with a specialist named Dr. Blad. I am glad I was in the hands of a 14 year, experienced specialist, who has reassured me that he has aligned over 80,000 adjustments! I was sold on the fact that chiropractors are natural healers! Not to mention, it was comforting to know his history considering I bought a Groupon and determined to go to this location based on good reviews! Did I mention I was scared sh*t-less because I didn’t want to come out of there with a broken anything or be another horror story of being permanently paralyzed. ( So I highly recommend you go to someone who is highly experienced.
I had 6 alignments! Left and right side of my neck, upper and lower part of my back, and both sides of my hips! I want to let anyone know that if you consider visiting a Chiro, know that when you hear a snap, crackle, and pop your first reaction is a shocking reaction that your body actually does this. (lol) It didn’t hurt me at all although some people may have certain conditions and chronic pains like Fibromyalgia and Sciatica that causes pain from the thrust and pressure of the alignment.
Chiropractors want to emphasize to patients that self-therapy is a vital component of pain management. This can include rehabilitation and range of motion exercises. However, chiropractors also may encourage approaches such as; acupuncture, massage therapy, yoga, lifestyle and psychological counseling, and many more treatment options that can be very beneficial. The treatments used and the benefits gained can vary with every individual.
Even though it takes more than one alignment to have a full adjusted, my body’s mobility is amazing from just one visit. I was sore for about 3 days but I think it was mostly from the deep tissue massage. So if you are thinking about giving a chiropractor a try! I say do it. Just make sure you ask a lot of questions, do your research in finding a great Chiropractor, and talk to your primary care physician if needed.
