The Power of Drinking Water


Water.jpgI know you have heard this a thousand times and I want to vibe with you a thousand and one times more on the importance of drinking water, because some of you think soda, lemonade, tea, and  coffee are to going to quench your thirst.

It’s not.


These beverages taste good and they are refreshing but let’s be honest, soft drinks, tea, coffee, and other beverages other than water that we all tend to indulge in,  are nothing but for the taste or for the caffeine.

And let’s not mention the  unwanted sugar and calorie count!

The summer is here and if you live in a hot climate location such as myself, then you will know that Texas Heat is NOTHING to play with. So Drink up!

Water is an essential component of our body and plays a vital role in regulating our bodily organs. Health benefits include:

  • Increases Energy & Boosts Immune System

  • Promotes Weight Loss

  • Flushes toxins

  • Maintains Regularity

So why would you not drink the fluids that is beneficial and a vital necessity for your body to function properly?

So I am sure you have heard that the required amount of water to drink is 6-8 oz of water per day. I can’t verify the truth in this well known statement, but what I do know is, our bodies have a tendency to lose a lot of fluids. When you exercise or in a hot climate,  you sweat, and when you sweat, you lose a lot of water which causes your body to go into an overdrive of dehydration. So it’s important to  keep water around to recharge and stay hydrated.

I know sometimes it is hard to guzzle down water that simply has no exciting taste to it. Try these 2 great ways to get your water intake!


  • Spruce it up!  – Try adding some cucumbers, lemon, or berries to add a little flavor to the water. Detox water is a natural way to shed pounds by simply adding Lemon to boost your metabolism.


  • Water Challenge- Take a jug of water il_570xN.1014692851_6w9g.jpgor your favorite water bottle and mark the times that you should drink that water time deadline. 


Other great ways for water intake includes investing in a water filter for a great and refreshing taste. Use water drinking apps such as Waterlogger for a fun way to keep drinking water interesting. When you go to a restaurant, ask for a glass of water with your meal. Hungry? Drink a glass of water to subside the hunger and for better digestion.

Yes, it can be tough sometimes or forgetful, but know that the effects of not drinking water can lead to:

  • lightheaded or dizziness, headaches
  • faint
  • toxin buildup
  • water weight gain
  • bloating
  • bowel & urine issues
  • dry and blemish skin issues
  • low energy levels 
  • sore muscles
  • and other medical conditions
